Kensington Arms

The Kensingtom arms is a pub and restaurant off London's Kensingtom High Street.
The building was completely refurbished to provide a beer cellar, lavatories and prep kitchen which had to be dug out and installed, the main pub bar, restaurant area and kitchen on the ground floor, an administrative office and meeting rooms on the first floor and a two bedroom flat on the second floor. The entire project took 14 months from start to finish and opened on schedule just before Christmas 2005.

The clients brief was two fold. To provide a bar atmosphere with food inspired from a Cornish menu, viewing of all major sports fixtures from overhead multi screen plasma televisions and seating for 50 - 60 diners.

The colour palette of the pub awas kept very light and roof lights were installed to maximise natural light. A sophisticated Lutron lighting and complimentary sound system was installed to allow the management to control the ambience and sound levels as required and the seating was leather covered sofas and moveable tables.

Natural oak wide plank floors were installed throughout and a series of photographs commissioned to reflect the glories of the Cornish estuary and coastline at Rock where the clients had a sister establishment.
