Creative Consultancy

Creative Consultancy is the term given to advice across a number of disciplines.

Undertaking large scale residential projects often requires the skills of a number of different specialists. An architect, landscape gardener, interior designer and a lighting and hi-fi consultant for instance. For a project to be successful these individuals have to work very closely together which requires individual briefing and updating on building schedule changes, client amendments and a host of other factors. Often the likelihood of a 'mixed message' is very real and although expert and capable in their own fields it is unreasonable to expect the landscape gardeners to be famiilar with all aspects of exterior lighting or sculpture installation as it is for the architect to be aware of a client's personal taste in existing art collections, furniture style or upholstery. A creative consultant is briefed by the client and takes all their existing and future requirements and personal style into consideration. They act as translators between the client and the various skills and trades and carry the 'vision' of the finished project right through to completion of works. If you think this service can be applicable to a project you are planning then please contact me by email or telephone and I will do my best to explain whether this is appropriate for what you have in mind.

Arrow Boardroom

The installation of a plasma TV was the brief but mounting the screen onto a bracket on the wall was not as discreet or as effective in such an important business function room as recessing and back lighting the screen into the wall. This hides the side dimensions of the screen and all wiring. A universal bracket was installed which allows easy pullout and swing of the unit for wiring access, light bulb changing and regular cleaning.

Glass encased model ship

This beautiful scale model made in 1954 was purchased at auction in a large mahogany case. Although the case was suitable then, the new design of the client's offices required a different treatment. The ship was removed, cleaned and stored while a new more modern case was designed and made. This was a toughened UV jointed glass top case mounted onto a stainless steel supportive and underlit base. The ship itself sits on laminated glass and benefits from the soft underlighting while directional and dimmable narrow beam ceiling lighting illuminates the ship superstructure. The entire top section of the case revolves at a leisurely pace to allow full enjoyment of the model and acts as an important centre piece to the main reception area.
